Course Title: BASIC RESUSCITATION CERTIFICATE
Course Description: Provides participants with essential principles, skills and knowledge to maintain or restore
breathing and circulation in an adult, child or infant.
Outcome: Patrolling Member who doesn't undertake rescue duties.
Pathway: Participants can complete their SRC at 13 years of age or Senior First Aid at 15 years.
Pre-requisites: 10 years +
Course Title: SENIOR FIRST AID CERTIFICATE (HLT)
Course Description: Provides participants with the skills and knowledge to manage emergency first aid situations
until professional medical support is available.
Outcome: First Aid Specialist Patrolling Member
Pathway: Participants can continue by undertaking further study in Emergency Care.
Pre-requisites: 14 years +
Course Title: ADVANCED RESUSCITATION TECHNIQUES CERTIFICATE
Course Description: Provides participants with the skills and knowledge to use oxygen, airway management devices
and automated defibrillators during resuscitation, and to administer oxygen to conscious or
unconscious breathing casualties.
Outcome: ART Specialist Patrolling Member
Pathway: Participants can continue by undertaking Spinal Management, Pain Management or Silver
Medallion in Advanced First Aid.
Pre-requisites: 15 years +
Proficient in: Certificate II in Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue) / Bronze Medallion OR
Provide Basic Emergency Care OR
Senior First Aid Certificate
Course Title: SPINAL MANAGEMENT
Course Description: Provides participants with the skills, knowledge and experience to manage injured casualties
with suspected spinal injuries in an aquatic environment and in emergency situations.
Outcome: Spinal Management Specialist Patrolling Member.
Pathway: Participants can continue by undertaking Advanced First Aid.
Pre-requisites: 16 years +
Course Title: PAIN MANAGEMENT
Course Description: Provides participants with the permit to carry and administer Methoxyflurane.
Outcome: Can administer Methoxyflurane.
Pathway: Participants can continue by undertaking the Silver Medallion Advanced First Aid.
Pre-requisites: 18 years +
Advanced Resuscitation Techniques Certificate & Senior First Aid Certificate.
Course Title: SILVER MEDALLION IN ADVANCED FIRST AID
Course Description: Provides participants with the skills and knowledge to manage first aid situations until
professional medical support is available.
Outcome: Advanced First Aid Patrolling Member.
Pre-requisites: 18 years +
Certificate II in Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue) / Bronze Medallion.
